Mars in Capricorn, Moon in Aquarius Compatibility

Flickr photo by badjonni via Creative Commons license

Mars in Capricorn does things by the book, while Moon in Aquarius writes her own book. Mars’ focused efforts to impress will feel stiff and uninteresting to Aquarius. But despite her need for independence, Aquarius can be surprisingly loyal. And this might be their unexpected point of compatibility.

Mars in Capricorn is energized by structure and limits. The narrower the path, the more focused he is, and the more effective he becomes. The result is a determined, traditional partner whose sterling work ethic is applied to his relationships. Mars in Capricorn may not be spontaneous, but he is serious about his commitments. However, his controlling tendencies may be a bit much for some.

Moon in Aquarius is an individual, rather than a rebel. She feels most secure when she’s comfortable being herself in a relationship. There may be no outward manifestations of eccentricity, but Moon in Aquarius will have a very set approach to domestic matters. There will be one or two areas where she insists on doing things her way, and her way will be quite different from tradition. In most other areas, she’ll be happy with whatever her partner decides; she doesn’t get caught up in power struggles. But if her lover tries to limit her freedom, it will be deal-breaker for this otherwise committed partner.

These two are not a natural fit. Moon in Aquarius will feel that Capricorn is just too stodgy for her. She’ll recognize that he can be controlling, and this will be a huge red flag for her. Mars in Capricorn may not even be attracted to Moon in Aquarius, as he senses her disregard for tradition and status. But if other aspects between their charts override the essential lack of chemistry, they’ll have to deal with their differences. Capricorn will have a tough time trying to order Aquarius around, as she responds with cool indifference. However, they share an independent streak and a focus on commitment. So if they can agree to disagree on certain areas, and Capricorn relinquishes some of his control, they might be able to form a long-lasting bond based on mutual respect for each other’s strength.

Mars in Sagittarius, Moon in Aquarius Compatibility

Flickr photo by badjonni via Creative Commons license

This couple will place each other’s freedom at the top of their respective lists. Mars in Sagittarius’ urge to explore will blend beautifully with Moon in Aquarius’ need to do things her way. The result will be a truly liberated union.

Mars in Sagittarius demands personal space. He’s so easygoing that his partner may not take him seriously. But it would be a mistake to assume Mars in Sag is a pushover. He’ll bring his sense of adventure and playfulness to the relationship, and (if he’s really into his lover) will put up with a lot. But if she tries to control him, belittle him or deny his free spirit, he’ll walk. He has a powerful sense of right and wrong, and that includes what’s right for him.

Moon in Aquarius needs a relationship where individuality is valued. In her ideal scenario, two do not become one. Rather, two people remain unique individuals who accept each other for who they are. Moon in Aquarius is surprisingly stable for such a “rebellious” sign. She will be unwaveringly loyal to a partner who accepts her slightly detached emotional expressions, and who doesn’t try to force suffocating closeness on her.

Mars in Sagittarius will recognize a kindred spirit in Moon in Aquarius. He’ll be intrigued by her cool but open responses to his jokes and charm. Moon in Aquarius will enjoy Sag’s efforts to get her attention, and she’ll feel comfortable with his restless energy. She’ll keep him centered in the partnership, without tying him down or demanding that he grow up. Mars in Sagittarius will continually inject the relationship with new experiences, and Aquarius will happily join him in exploring. Together, they’ll create a vibrant union where love is expressed with a loose grip.

Mars in Scorpio, Moon in Aquarius Compatibility

Flickr photo by badjonni via Creative Commons license

Flickr photo by badjonni via Creative Commons license

Mars in Scorpio’s drive for dominance will clash with Moon in Aquarius’ need for independence. Scorpio wants to possess, while Aquarius needs to step back. This is a difficult combination that will demand compromise from these uncompromising partners.

Once Scorpio makes his move, he goes all the way. Whether it’s his first move with someone he’s attracted to or ongoing efforts in an existing relationship, he’s focused on the continual establishment of an intimate bond. Mars in Scorpio’s actions are the real deal — he only initiates when he intends to follow through. He is a passionate, committed, controlling partner who demands complete access to his lover.

Moon in Aquarius needs freedom. She may not be a wanderer or rebel, but she has a stubborn drive to do things her way. Her ideal partner will honor her need to be herself, which means he’ll accept her quirks and need for alone time. Moon in Aquarius can be profoundly loyal and committed, but is not comfortable with deep emotional exploration. She feels safe when there’s some distance between herself and the issue — this allows her to approach everything with a calm, detached perspective.

Mars in Scorpio will view Moon in Aquarius’ emotional coolness as a challenge. He’ll push to access her secrets and trigger her emotional vulnerabilities, while she’ll observe his efforts. Moon in Aquarius will feel that Scorpio’s energy is far too heavy for her, and she’ll calmly pull away. She won’t get upset, but she will sense that Scorpio will never stop trying to get closer. If other aspects between their charts indicate a bond, these two may be able to make it work based on their shared desire for commitment. While Aquarius may feel emotionally unavailable to Scorpio, she will always be loyal. And Mars in Scorpio will appreciate this. He’ll just have to work on accepting that her brand of intimacy is very different from his.

Mars in Virgo, Moon in Aquarius Compatibility

Flickr photo by badjonni via Creative Commons license

Flickr photo by badjonni via Creative Commons license

Mars in Virgo will attempt to apply his specific methodologies to the relationship, and this will clash with Moon in Aquarius’ need to do things her way. However, both these signs are eccentric, and this commonality may be what keeps them together.

Mars in Virgo has specific solutions. He can become obsessive about doing things the “right” way. The best partner for him will accommodate this, while not allowing his focus on perfection to dominate the relationship. Mars in Virgo’s efforts are based on his desire to make things better, but they are also his way of creating crisis as a vehicle for improvement. His partner should also understand that his routines are sacred. He’s open to change, but he’s not open to interference with his solutions.

Moon in Aquarius needs to have things her way. She’s not controlling; she values freedom too much. But she is incredibly stubborn, especially if her partner insists on doing something that limits her freedom, alone time or peculiar habits. The stereotype of “revolutionary” is applied to her sign, but Moon in Aquarius does have habits — they’re just atypical. For the most part, she is open to almost anything her partner does or suggests, as long as those things do not conflict with her individuation.

Mars in Virgo will obsess about the little things that Moon in Aquarius won’t care about. The challenges to this will involve their mismatched set of priorities, as Virgo’s focus on crisis barely impacts Aquarius. Mars in Virgo may get bent out of shape about this, until he realizes that Aquarius’ detached perspective won’t change. The positives in this mismatch can be revealed if these two accept each other’s differences. If Virgo can avoid insisting that Aquarius do things a certain way, Aquarius’ detachment can remind him that he only has so much control. Virgo and Aquarius should recognize that they are both quirky individuals who dislike having anyone interfere with their approaches. If they agree to respect each other’s areas of concern, this odd union can work out.

Mars in Leo, Moon in Aquarius Compatibility

Flickr photo by badjonni via Creative Commons license

Flickr photo by badjonni via Creative Commons license

This relationship’s chemistry is based on the attraction of opposites. Mars in Leo’s show-off antics will amuse Moon in Aquarius, but won’t scratch her cool surface. However, she will feel a pull towards Leo, as he piques her curiosity. And Mars in Leo will redouble his efforts to impress this oddly detached but friendly outsider.

Mars in Leo knows how to make an entrance. His partner will get the feeling that his passionate efforts to impress are also directed at a wider audience. At the end of the day, Mars in Leo’s actions are designed to make him look good. But this doesn’t invalidate the considerable amount of energy he puts into romancing his lover. He knows he’s the best, he knows where to find the best, and he’s uniquely qualified to deliver the best to his partner.

Moon in Aquarius must have the freedom to love in her own way. Although she can be the most committed of partners, she will only commit to someone who understands her unique brand of nurturing. Moon in Aquarius will give her time and energy to her lover, and she’ll be the best friend he’s ever had. She’ll listen and be non-judgemental, but she won’t offer intense emotional displays. Her lover will get the sense that part of her isn’t in the same room, even when they’re being intimate.

Mars in Leo will be frustrated and challenged at Aquarius’ lack of praise. But he’ll rise to the challenge, trying even harder to impress this cool lady (who still seems to be interested in him). Moon in Aquarius will find Leo’s antics a bit obvious, but she’s not one to judge. And there will be something about him she can’t ignore. His heat will melt some of her chill alienation, when no one else has ever come close to touching her on that level. Together, they have a good chance at creating a long-term relationship. Their Fixed natures ensure that once they commit, they’ll be loath to let go.

Mars in Cancer, Moon in Aquarius Compatibility

Flickr photo by badjonni via Creative Commons license

Flickr photo by badjonni via Creative Commons license

Mars in Cancer’s desire for closeness and security will feel smothering to Moon in Aquarius, while Aquarius’ need to do things her way will not blend at all with Cancer’s bonding efforts. This is not an easy combination. But if more harmonious connections exist between their charts, Aquarius’ ability to play it cool could work in this couple’s favor.

Mars in Cancer wants his efforts to mean something. He’s focused on caring for his partner, and will do his utmost to ensure that she’s safe and comfortable. His actions are also driven by his desire to be needed, which means he takes it very personally if his efforts aren’t appreciated. Mars in Cancer isn’t interested in being anyone’s servant. He’ll cook and provide emotional support, but he wants a significant amount of loving in return.

Moon in Aquarius needs her partner’s friendship more than she needs his care. She feels most secure when she’s not weighed down by her lover’s demands, although (with the right person) she is one of the more committed signs. Moon in Aquarius is detached, which means her way of expressing emotion can be a bit cool for some people. She loves and hurts just like everyone else, but doesn’t immerse herself in the moment. This also makes her an unflappable partner; when there’s a crisis, she’s able to hold it together because she doesn’t get overwhelmed.

Mars in Cancer will take everything personally, while Moon in Aquarius will take almost nothing personally. He’ll get angry, frustrated, hurt and needy as he tries to push his brand of care onto Aquarius. She’ll respond as best she can (if she’s not feeling smothered). But Cancer may constantly attempt to trigger responses from Aquarius (that he feels comfortable with). If this is a love connection, she’ll take his moody displays in stride. But this will be an awkward relationship, and on an emotional level, they might never fully connect.

Mars in Gemini, Moon in Aquarius Compatibility

Flickr photo by badjonni via Creative Commons license

Flickr photo by badjonni via Creative Commons license

Mars in Gemini’s precocious statements will harmonize with Moon in Aquarius’ need for something unusual. Even better, Aquarius’ detachment means she’ll be unfazed, no matter how risqué Gemini gets. Both of these Air signs prefer challenging interactions that somehow manage to stay light.

Mars in Gemini wants to provoke a reaction. When he’s interested in someone, he’ll use his quick wits and edgy words as foreplay. He’ll be charming, but there will be an undertone of challenge. If the object of his affection has a zingy rejoinder, it’s game on. Mars in Gemini’s partner can count on an endless stream of stimulating conversation and new ideas (especially in the bedroom). But intense, emotional discussions and neediness will make him uncomfortable.

Moon in Aquarius needs to know that she can do things her way. Contrary to what you may have heard about this sign, she is capable of (and actually wants) lasting commitment — but only with a partner who understands that the slight distance surrounding her will never go away. Even in the most intimate moments, Moon in Aquarius’ lover can feel like she’s not fully present. On top of this, she needs someone who completely accepts her individual quirks and routines.

Mars in Gemini may not fully understand Aquarius’ quirks (no one does) but he won’t care. He’ll be attracted to her unique energy, and she’ll respond to his verbal challenges with quick, slightly perverse comebacks. Much to his delight, Mars in Gemini will find that it’s almost impossible to offend Moon in Aquarius. These two can create a relationship where the energy of detachment and fast-moving ideas is comfortable for them both. However, with such an emphasis on air, it will be helpful if they have more solid connections between them (like Saturn aspects or Earth planets) to anchor the relationship.

Mars in Taurus, Moon in Aquarius Compatibility

Flickr photo by badjonni via Creative Commons license

Flickr photo by badjonni via Creative Commons license

Mars in Taurus’ stubbornly possessive actions will clash with Moon in Aquarius’ equally stubborn need for independence. Taurus will fence Aquarius in, and Aquarius will feel trapped. Both are so set in their ways that it will be difficult for them to reach a compromise. However, if they do find common ground, their combined loyalty can make this relationship a keeper.

Mars in Taurus acts to preserve his security. Once he’s established a relationship, he’ll do everything within his power to ensure that it lasts. And lasts. This makes Mars in Taurus an exceptional partner who can be relied on. As a bonus, he has a steady sex drive and grounded approach to all things physical. But he is also exceptionally stubborn. His lover will have her work cut out for her if she decides she wants something that he doesn’t.

Moon in Aquarius needs a routine, which may surprise some who view this sign as a flaky rebel. Her routine consists of doing her thing, her way, and it will run counter to whatever the accepted practice is. Moon in Aquarius will stick with her partner as long as he allows her to live and love in a manner that makes her comfortable. Intense displays of emotion are not her thing, and she also requires periods of time when she can wander away from the confines of the relationship. She may be out socializing with friends, or enjoying some alone time. But the important thing is that she has the freedom to detach and reconnect when she’s ready.

Mars in Taurus will be frustrated by Aquarius’ need for space. As far as he’s concerned, there’s no reason to venture beyond the cozy confines of the relationship he’s built. Moon in Aquarius will feel trapped by Taurus’ rigid routines and heavy-handed loving. Neither will see any reason to change their ways, and that may be the end of their connection. But if there are stronger contacts between their charts, these two may be able to make it work through sheer determination. Taurus will have to give Aquarius some space, and Aquarius will need to accept that Taurus views her independence as a threat. If they can dial down their instinctive reactions, they’ll have a shot at a long-term union.

Mars in Aries, Moon in Aquarius Compatibility

Flickr photo by badjonni via Creative Commons license

Flickr photo by badjonni via Creative Commons license

An interesting mix is created when Aries’ fire meets Aquarian ice. However, both these signs are highly independent, and Moon in Aquarius is curious about anyone who stands out from the crowd. Mars in Aries may be demanding, but he’s not clingy, and this will keep their relationship humming along.

Mars in Aries goes after what he wants. Once he’s attracted to someone (which can happen almost instantaneously) he’s in full-on pursuit mode. But once he’s caught her, it can become confusing for his partner. Mars in Aries’ determination is not the same as obsession or neediness. Once he gets what he wants, he’ll be looking around for the next challenge. And this is the secret to keeping him engaged in the relationship: provide a challenge. A bit of friction will create a spark, and that will be all that’s necessary to keep the fire burning.

Moon in Aquarius needs room to break a few rules. She may not be obviously rebellious, but no matter how conservative she appears on the surface, in her heart she marches to a unique (sometimes weird) beat. As a Fixed sign, she can be totally loyal to a partner who recognizes and honors her inner individual. Part of this will involve accepting that her love does not consist of emotional merging. Moon in Aquarius stands slightly apart from everyone, and is suffocated by neediness. Her brand of nurturing consists of dedicating time and attention to those she loves, even though she’s not baking cookies.

Mars in Aries’ flavor of passion will suit Aquarius just fine; he’ll catch her interest with his aggression, but won’t be possessive in the long run (although he may initially compete to win her affections). Moon in Aquarius’ cool curiosity and take-it-or-leave-it vibe will be an endless source of excitement for Aries. She’ll always be slightly out of reach, but at the same time open to what he’s offering. Her steady acceptance of her partner’s desire for challenge will keep the relationship together. These two can create a hot connection that burns steadily throughout the years.
