This is an emotionally charged week for many, with plenty of Venus and Mars action to be had. This might be good news for your love life, but (just like any decent romantic comedy) the middle act could be filled with frustration before it gets resolved by the end. Taking full advantage of these circumstances involves the right timing, and this week there are a couple of days and times to ignore the vibe as much as possible, and other times when you’ll be free and clear to let ‘er rip. This week in particular, pay attention to the Moon!
Late Tuesday/early Wednesday (but felt throughout the week), Mars sextile Pluto will boost sex drives and make them more insistent. This is powerful but about as subtle as a sledgehammer. Communicating your needs in a more civilized manner may not be easy, because although Mercury is done with its retrograde, it’s still in the “shadow period,” and it’s in Sagittarius until Thursday. Mercury in Sagittarius doesn’t exactly have a reputation for subtlety.
On Thursday (but also in effect throughout the week), Venus conjunct Neptune may supply the sweetness that the Mars-Pluto aspect so desperately needs. Employ a little common sense to your romantic, financial, and dietary decisions, however: any planet conjunct Neptune may be deep and profound, but it’s rarely wise or logical. Just remember that not every charming stranger will still be your “soul mate” once the party is over and you’ve both sobered up, literally or figuratively.
Speaking of Thursday, the Full Moon in Cancer happens early in the morning and then goes Void of Course for a large chunk of the day. Complicating matters is the square that Full Moon performs to the Jupiter-Uranus opposition. This means that your usual levels of moodiness and irritability will approximately double, and your chances of effectively dealing with it will be approximately cut in half. If that sounds like fun, please do us all a favor and go hide somewhere soundproof for the day. Take advantage of all that Venus and Mars activity this week some other day, okay?
Overall, this week’s conditions should make for a lively weekend, and it should be relatively easy to set up a fun and/or passionate date with someone special. If you want to spend some time with someone new, it’s best to avoid scheduling it for Saturday, when the Moon is Void of Course in Leo. Moon in Leo can be great fun in general, but when it’s Void, that good time is unlikely to lead to anything more lasting. It’s great when the good times roll, but isn’t it better when they can just keep rolling?
