You’ve got to admit: a Venus-Jupiter conjunction sounds good doesn’t it? It’s like Willy Wonka and Santa Claus decided to throw a party together and we are all invited. Admittedly this aspect, which has been building for some time and becomes exact on July 1st, will be good news for many of you. But let’s not forget that although conjunctions are powerful, they can be a pain in the rear when they are squaring or opposing something in your birth chart. If you have any major placements around 21 degrees of Taurus, Scorpio, or Aquarius, plus or minus a few degrees, you are likely to be feeling some agitation lately. This may be particularly true for many of you born during the mid-1960s, because that’s where your Neptune is. So while many of you may be having a lovely time with this, the tail end of the baby boomers and the first wave of Generation X will probably find themselves frustrated with life, and quite possibly in hard-to-define ways. This particular aspect is also a hazard for overdoing it with food or drink or whatever your favorite intoxicant is, so let’s be careful out there.
Now that I’ve rained on your parade about the Venus-Jupiter conjunction, let me say something nice about a placement that frequently gets the short end of the stick: the Full Moon in Capricorn, which also happens on the first of the month (or early July 2 in Universal Time). Need a sudden burst of emotional energy to confront something in your life? Here it is: a Full Moon you can bend to your purposes… particularly when we’re talking about a Full Moon like this that is also aspecting Neptune. So: pick your target, plan your attack, then roll up your sleeves and do something about it. You’ll get results.
And, about Mars in Cancer? This week it is building towards a nice soft trine with Neptune, which should take some of the edge off this otherwise problematic placement. What I’m trying to say here is this: just to be safe, don’t say anything negative or combative or confrontational about anyone’s moods or weight or mother or hobbies or relationship or activities, or anything that could potentially be misconstrued that way. Actually, I think what I’m trying to say here is this: Mars in Cancer is problematic. Play nice, avoid conflict, and don’t over-react when conflict happens anyway.
The weekend dating situation looks promising. Moon in Aquarius is a good time to get out and meet and greet new people. Also if you’re in the United States, there’s some sort of festival on Saturday, July Fourth that involves hot dogs and explosions. Both of those are pretty Freudian for a country initially founded by Puritans if you think about it, and in a likewise manner you might be able to convert a public celebration into something a little more up close and personal. Mars is still in Cancer so you might as well find a way to leverage those smoldering emotions into something a little more personally useful.

For the past few relationships this has been the case, I feel I keep coming up against partners (females) that have a desire to remain individual or ‘free spirited’ to the point that it can appear (to me) that they give out very little love. I understand that we are attracted to partners as a means to learn something about ourselves, and I am afraid I am missing something and this is why I keep ending up in these confusing relationships, where their is a part of me which is not content, that would ideally expect more (love). Is it stupid of me to believe in a love that can give and receive equally? Should I work hard to give less? (this will be difficult as it’s not in my nature). I know I probably sound impatient, but right now I am 42 with no family, I have my s**t together bringing in a good pay, I have a creative practice, I meditate, but since getting my life together and becoming more responsible, soul partners that I can share strong affinities with and connect with are all but gone. ( A whiff of saturn jupiter opposition here?)
I don’t want to feel like I am being pushed into my life choices, and there comes a time in a mans life, when it would be good to feel like you’re steering the helm of a sturdy sea vessel rather than bobbing up and down like a buoy swept off on a tide. My current situation arose from departing an unhappy relationship and finding full-time work in a new city, my present situation is quite close, I have been offered a chance to work in China.. I am unsure whether to just go for it (again), or try to be patient and make my current relationship work. I am a little tired of constantly moving to new situations to alleviate my circumstance, but maybe there is a place out there for me, where everything will work out right?

I posted a thread recently asking for help but don’t feel anywhere near satisfied with any responses, so I am going to get a lot more specific here.
I have been studying vedic astrology for years now on my own and I am only completely and utterly terrified about my upcoming ketu mahadasha. Ketu is located in my 8th house with my moon in Anuradha nakshatra – Mars is in the 9th very early degrees, along with Jupiter in later degrees. I have read all kinds of terrible things about Ketu’s Dasha as well as any 8th house planet’s dasha.
I have read that I will have a shortened lifespan, encounter a severe and traumatic physical accident or disease, remain alone or be widowed, and achieve no success in career, etc. Mostly I am afraid for an early death and/or a severe accident/incurable disease. Please help.
Any *experienced, well-learned astrologer* is strongly encouraged (begged) for analysis.
If there is ANY positive possibility for this next phase of life (also going through sade sati) please enlighten me.
So far in my life Ketu has manifested in these ways: traumatic birth scenario (born two months early by c-section and placed in incubator for a couple of months, but everything went more or less very well afterward – mother’s life was endangered by birth scenario but she also recovered well), a couple of surgeries (one was for a false alarm endometriosis – no major problems, one was for appendicitis – nearly died because I waited too long to go to the hospital but again all was well although I have a large scar on the area and it took a while for me to fully recover as is expected with abdominal surgery, and then just standard wisdom teeth removal surgery), a lower-back injury from water sports (the area was already sensitive from overdoing it with backbends on the dance floor on a regular basis), again took a long time to recover, may have not fully recovered, still have chronic pain there and is a sensitive spot, but overall ok – umm…. yes some major problems with mother growing up but overall very greatly ameliorated with time and distance, have remained alone (without love partner) for many years – but I also have Shani in 7…. and a history of on and off deep depression throughout my entire life, mood swings especially during PMS, major major anxiety/panic attacks from drug experiences, and long bouts with life-long very low self-esteem, especially related to the way I look (I grew up with intense facial acne and was bullied and ignored, and also at the start of Mercury dasha my mother gave birth to triplets and I went from princess with doting parents to slave with a mostly angry mother and a mostly silent father). I tend to make emergencies out of small situations – easily becoming overwhelmed and frustrated to the point of thinking my life is meaningless and will always be nothing but hardship. These moods can lift as suddenly as they start and I can be back to feeling expansive and happy-go-lucky – it’s tiring. Also my life is punctuated by periods of great upheaval, which at first seem terrible but often (not always) end up leading to beautiful, unexpectedly fortunate experiences that wouldnt have otherwise occurred without the sudden snatching of the carpet from under my feet.
I do have a high interest in astrology/occult matters, I have received many gifts and “inheritances” from others – no major chunks of money but people tend to give me nice things of theirs that they don’t want anymore, or share their wealth with me – but I think this is from my good karma of doing the same for others – I am fairly good at research and enjoy it, possess a depth and intensity that others are attracted to, and some say I have a hypnotic and sexual charisma. I also love to play characters through acting and even I love to be many different charaters in my own life – express many different sides to my personality – not in a “split personality” way, but in a way that honors the variety of human expression – “transformation.”
So while I do see that my track record has definitely had a lot of ups and downs, usually things work out for the best eventually. My longer periods of severe depression and self-deprecating doubt have definitely caused a lack of accomplishment in my life thus far – I have definitely definitely been Ketu the wanderer…. but now in my life I am trying to be still and make something of my life, use my talents and gifts to create a materially rewarding life – I care more about finding a way to engage in the arts as a career and be recognized for it than I do about accumulating money or nice things. I’d also really like to find a true love partnership that can stand the test of time.
But I am ramshackled by great fear for this upcoming dasha. My paranoia is strong and I do everything I can to abate it – meditate, think positive thoughts, but I am still completely paraonid something terrible and awful and irreversible is going to happen. I know this is a part of life but some cases are far worse than others and I desperately need some counseling on this. I am asking for someone who can do predictions to look at my chart and see what they think my Ketu dasha will really be like and help me prepare for it.
In an attached computer-generated horoscope kindly submitted in the other thread by another user, it suggested that the Ketu dasha would go well. I can’t tell what’s what. PLEASE HELP – my fear will not go away by someone telling me “have no fear.” I need a logical analysis I can intellectually understand and respect. I may be asking for a lot but I feel very desperately afraid and have nowhere else to turn, as most therapists in this world are not versed in astrology and I give utmost respect to this ancient system of knowledge.

Despite being the planet of love and attraction, transiting Venus doesn’t usually create much of a stir. She moves quickly, aspecting natal planets, points or angles for about two days. If you feel her influence at all, you experience a gentle brush with possibility, unless she’s coinciding with stronger influences. But when Venus is retrograde, she grabs your attention. This will be happening from July 25th to September 6th, 2015.
Venus slows down when she stations from direct to Rx (and vice versa). It’s possible that she can aspect something in your chart up to three times; once when she’s direct, a second time when she’s retrograde, and a third time when she moves forward. Bonus points if you have anything within one degree of where she’s stationing direct or Rx. This can extend her influence on your planet, point or angle for up to three weeks. That’s a lot of concentrated Venus energy. She’s underlining a sentence on the page of your love life, multiple times.
Venus will station Rx at 0 degrees Virgo, then she’ll back into Leo, where she’ll station direct at 14 degrees. People are making a big deal out of her extended stay in Leo, but few want to dwell on the fact that Virgo will be part of this Rx period. And who can blame them? Venus in Leo is proud, magnetic and ready to show off. Venus in Virgo is focused on what’s wrong. Venus in Leo says “Love me now!” and Venus in Virgo says “Are you sure?” But you can’t ignore her dip into Virgo, because it’s a crucial part of this transit.
Venus Rx can reconnect you with past loves. This can also be a time to reevaluate your current relationship, lack of relationship, or who you’re attracting. Venus rules Libra and Taurus, and no matter what sign she’s moving through, she’s expressing one of these two energies. Venus direct is Libra (how you relate to and attract others). Her energy is externalized. Venus Rx is Taurus (how you relate to yourself). Her energy is internalized. Venus Rx is not great for starting brand new relationships, but that doesn’t mean you should put everything on hold until she stations direct. If you connect with someone, by all means explore the relationship (if you want to). Sometimes there’s a loose end to wrap up. But once Venus stations direct, one or both partners could have a change of heart. On occasion, a relationship may move forward with Venus direct, but your best bet is to remain unattached to outcomes. I know — that’s next to impossible when you have feelings for someone.
Venus’ initial Leo transit (June 5th, 2015 to July 18th, 2015) will set the stage by establishing Leo relationship themes: being noticed, being loved for who you are, and feeling special in the way you connect with others. When Venus enters Virgo (July 18th), there will be a shift in energy that acts a buildup to Venus’ Rx station (July 25th). You may feel doubts about what Venus in Leo stirred up — doubts about yourself or someone else. And those doubts will intensify once Venus stations Rx, because Virgo’s task is to push you to look at what’s really happening. What do they have to offer you? What do you have to offer them? Why are you still single? Venus Rx in Virgo is relationship hyper-analysis mode. The fact that this will be happening at 0 degrees Virgo is significant; it suggests that you can go no further until you back up and get real about Venus in Leo.
Note that Venus will be stationing Rx on fixed star Regulus. This star was originally situated in Leo, but entered Virgo on November 28th, 2011. Regulus can bring success and glory, but will trigger a downfall if less than honorable actions are taken. In Virgo, these stainless standards have intensified. As Venus hovers over Regulus, integrity in relationships will be emphasized. You may be compelled to examine the standards you set, and how others treat you as a result. How do you react when you’re not appreciated? Has someone been dishonoring you? The concept of honor seems outdated, but I think it will be an issue during this transit.
As Venus Rx backs into Leo (July 31st) she’ll be taking Virgo’s analysis with her. Venus in Virgo will have posed a specific question about your love life, and Venus Rx in Leo will be where you look for answers. Venus direct in Leo was about being noticed, but Venus Rx in Leo will ask you to hone in why and how you’re noticed. Or, why you’re being ignored. These will be valid questions whether you’re single or in a relationship. If you’re reconnecting with someone, be prepared for a repeat of old patterns, viewed through the Leo lens. Venus Rx in Leo will remove the fancy wrapping on the romance, and urge you to look at the truth (the buzzkill issue that Venus in Virgo first brought up). By the time Venus stations direct (September 6th) you should have all the answers you need about where you feel special, or where you’re being ignored, in your love life.
