Love Horoscope for the Week of February 2

weeklylove With all the myriad little aches and pains that life is full of (thanks to planets like Mars and Saturn and Pluto) sometimes it’s easy to forget there’s a Jupiter out there. And thank heavens, because we could all use a break sometimes. This week there is a greater-than-usual emphasis on the role of Jupiter in the transits, so if what you need in your life is a little more fun or happiness or levity, you got a good chance of getting it. Forget for a moment that Jupiter is retrograde: it’s still Jupiter, and it is still the Solar System’s King of Good Times. If your life has been more of a drag than usual of late, there’s a Full Moon coming that can help you blow off some steam.

Tuesday’s Full Moon is conjunct Jupiter in Leo. Usually a Full Moon comes with the standard warnings about moodiness and potential upsets and irritability and werewolves and such, but you can’t help but love a Full Moon conjunct Jupiter just a little. Most people’s schedules can’t accommodate blowing off work on a Tuesday and going out and partying, but you might be tempted this week. Need an astrologer’s permission slip to skip work Wednesday with a hangover? You got it!

The big news as far as your love life and finances are concerned: During the first part of the week, Venus is still in Pisces, conjunct Neptune and square Saturn in Sagittarius. Normally Venus in Pisces would have astrologers talking about how The Love Planet is in its “exalted” placement in Pisces, but when it’s conjunct Neptune and square Saturn, the whole thing is just kind of a mess. Be wise, be prudent, and avoid any bold love-life moves or major financial arrangements until later in the month, if you can.

Going out and blowing off some steam is usually reserved for the weekend, and Jupiter can lend a hand there, too. Sun opposite Jupiter is exact on Friday but carries on throughout the weekend. In relationships (romantic or otherwise) Jupiter relates to the idea of fairness, commitment, shared values, and mutual gain. If you are in a committed relationship, this weekend will be a good time to do some maintenance work… and if you’re still looking for a committed relationship, this weekend might be a better-than-average time to find someone who is of a similar mind when it comes to commitments. The Moon is Void of Course Friday evening, so relationship maintenance is favored over starting something new. That Moon goes Void opposite Mars in Pisces, so you might find yourself feeling unusually restless for a Friday evening. Get as much fun in as you can on Saturday before the Moon goes Void of Course on Sunday evening and stays that way until Monday.

In the meantime, yes, Mercury is still retrograde. Speaking as someone who has had entirely far too many things break down, fall apart, or screw up in the last couple of weeks: I am officially declaring a moratorium on blaming any more problems on Mercury retrograde. Yes, I have said this before. I will probably end up saying it again… and so will you.
