Love Horoscope for the Week of March 16

Astrologically it’s a busy week, with a major square, a planetary ingress and an Eclipse to make life more exciting. There’s a lot happening, and how well you handle it will depend on how much brainpower you apply to your situation. With Mercury conjunct Neptune most of the week, your “brainpower” in general will be a little softer and fuzzier and harder to come by than usual. So feel free to read this week’s forecast a little more slowly and deliberately than usual… and since I don’t want you to miss any important details, I’ll write more slowly too. (Ha! See, that’s an example of how common sense can get scrambled when Mercury is conjunct Neptune.)

If you’re looking for an excuse to blame your lousy Monday on, the Zodiac has one for you: Monday marks the seventh and final exact square between Uranus and Pluto. Don’t go celebrating just yet, though. The aspect will be in orb for several months yet, and still give you (and the world in general) lots of opportunities to go off the rails. But still, it’s good to know that more of that Uranus-Pluto crap is behind us than is ahead of us. Besides, if things are going majorly wrong in your world, there’s more than just that to blame. Don’t forget that Saturn square Neptune is still in effect.

On Tuesday, Venus enters Taurus. Since Venus rules Taurus, this is probably exactly what your love life needs… assuming of course that what your love life needs is to be more stubborn, more fixated on purely physical pleasure, to overspend, and to completely break its diet. Yes, Venus in Taurus can be a propitious time to get your love life rolling, but it takes more than just that. For the next few weeks, you may be feeling the love vibration… but you may have to get out and push in order to get to your romantic goals.

Friday’s New Moon is also a total Solar Eclipse, happening in the last degree of Pisces. Normally a New Moon is a good time for setting your intentions for the following month, but this time around — since it’s an Eclipse — your intentions may carry extra punch, so use them wisely. Also, if you have any major placements in your birth chart close to the end of a Water Sign or the beginning of a Fire Sign, there’s a good chance of sudden and unexpected developments in that department of your life in the next few months. Remember that “sudden and unexpected” isn’t necessarily bad, so try to avoid that natural sense of foreboding so many get when they hear about an Eclipse.

Finally, the weekend dating scene will give you a variety of opportunities to blow off the week’s tensions. On Saturday, the Moon in Aries is conjunct Uranus, then Mars, with a quare to Pluto thrown in for good measure… so if “wild party” (or possibly “long-awaited blowup with someone”) sounds like a good time, get out and have fun with it. If what your private life needs is a more gentle and soothing touch, on Sunday the Moon in Taurus is conjunct Venus. Either way, it’s a little something for everyone this weekend.
