Love Horoscope for the Week of August 31

When you get right down to it, how your life runs boils down to a series of judgement calls on your part. I think that’s a good thing overall — it implies a certain degree of Free Will. But there are some weeks when the choices are clearer than others, and there are weeks when your brain is fuzzier than usual. Unfortunately, this week’s astrological happenings set up some circumstances which might make your judgement seem a bit out to lunch… and it might be just a little more important to pay attention to the cosmic forces at work around you and heed their warnings (or just dive in and enjoy the hedonistic and impulsive mood, depending on how you feel about that sort of thing).

Ever walk into work on a Monday morning a little bleary-eyed and baffled and not sure of what you’re doing or why you’re doing it? This time around it may not just be because of the usual extended hangover, sleep deprivation, or lack of coffee. Sun opposite Neptune on Monday lends the usual beginning of the work week a little extra confusion. Be careful of your coworkers’ larger-than-usual ego demands, which may be more out of whack than usual… and, of course, your big ol’ Ego might be acting up too.

That aspect will be in effect throughout the first part of the week, and it is certainly not going to make your judgement any sharper around your sex drive. That’s where the Venus-Mars conjunction (which is exact on Tuesday) comes into play. Yes, sometimes this aspect merely results in an urge to party and socialize, but let’s be honest: Venus conjunct Mars often makes for a bumper crop of sexual arousal. Yes, that sort of thing is great when it’s managed properly, but remember that warning I gave you about your judgement. Venus is still retrograde, so I have a special warning to those of you who are prone to making inappropriate drunk dials to exes that you know you shouldn’t have anything to do with anymore: hide your phone for a couple of days!

For the weekend dating scene, the major aspect to keep an eye on is Sun trine Pluto, which is exact on Saturday but is in effect throughout the weekend. This might give you a chance to apply a sharper and more sensible approach to your love life. At the very least, it may embolden you to take action in your relationships where previously you might have been afraid to make a move or changes that were required. Of course, I’ll leave that up to your judgment…
