I Ching image Hexagram 23 lines

Image for hexagram 23, Splitting Apart

This is the time when part of the self separates
from the known environment.
The falling away may bring you to form a new connection.
Whether splitting or a new joining,
this is a transformative experience.
When the split happens there is no guarantee.
The falling away could result in total disintegration
or a path leading to a new beginning not yet imaginable.
At such times we cannot chose the outcome.
This event is the end of the known
or may lead to a turning point of new life.

Thoughts about hexagram 23:

When consulting the I Ching people usually don’t like receiving hexagram 23, the dreaded Splitting Apart. In reading Blofeld, Ritsema/Karcher, Shaughnessy, Cleary, Legge, Wilhelm/Baynes, Alfred Hauang and more, some of the titles are, Peeling Off, Decay, Stripping Away, Intrigue, Deterioration, Collapse, Fracturing, Tearing, Disintegration, Unraveling, Falling Away and Parting.

The Judgments say, “It does not further to go anywhere,” or “It is not advantageous to make a movement in any direction what ever.” Ritsema/Karcher say, “This hexagram describes your situation in terms of something outmoded or worn out. It emphasizes that eliminating what has become unusable is the adequate way to handle it.”

Legge has an interpretation that points to my thoughts on this hexagram. “Decay has begun at the bottom and crept upward. The hexagram symbolizes the ninth month …”

and

The specific image is that of a bed and its occupant, and the symbolism describes the attempts made to overthrow him. The lower trigram of Docility and the upper trigram of Keeping Still suggest to the superior man of line six how he can best deal with the prevailing circumstances. The situation is not hopeless—winter is followed by spring, night by day, and the waning moon soon grows full again. So will it be in the course of human affairs.

Katya Walter in her book, The Tao of Chaos, discusses the similarity of the character for I Ching the DNA structure. “This patterning organizes the very code that builds us, the DNA that shapes our bodies, bone, muscle, and skin. And it organizes our psyches too.”

helix_splitting

Martin Shonberger in his book, The I Ching and the Genetic Code discusses the similarity of the character for I Ching and the DNA structure.

Excerpted from his discussion:

I Ching character by Martin Shonberger“This sign has a curious look about it, like the germ of a plant, an embryo, perhaps even a ghost, a “Bodiless head” freely floating. And then we turn to the diagram of the DNA with the code written on the “rungs of the ladder”, 8 rungs through 360 degree = 1 whole story of the “staircase”. Is there one underlying pattern here?

The electron micrographs already available of the double helix reveal an astounding similarity to a perpetually continued I Ching symbol. With its four rungs, the I Ching symbol looks like the head of the DNA “snake.” The principle of one turn with four rungs per half story is the same. In other words the “ghost” symbol as a drawing is identical with the model confirmed in the electron microscope! … The written sign which is at the same time the visual image of the DNA double helix is an idea as absurd as it is informative … what is so astonishing is that the regular light and dark masses of the I Ching symbol complementing each other in a polar pattern suddenly, like a picture puzzle, produce a second, identical but contrarotating I Ching counterimage, just like the contrarotating spiral in the DNA code with the unvarying complementary pairs of bases A -T and C – G.

My perspective on hexagram 23

Over the past 40+ years of asking the I Ching for counsel, of course I have received this hexagram. The result of the “splitting” was not always the negative experience that all the I Ching interpretations say it is. Sometimes splitting apart has been a good thing.

I have made my point that the I Ching has a similarity to the structure of our DNA. My interpretation for hexagram 23 is that it could be the time when we split off a part of our self, to join with another similar but unique event that creates a new and transformational experience.

I don’t argue with what the wise ones have said about this hexagram. My view could only be possible after Watson and Crick discovered DNA in 1953. My perspective is to add to the meaning of hexagram 23, not to eliminate all the previous ones. Considering the fact that the I Ching originated more than 3,000 years ago when there was no knowledge about the science of genetics, hexagram 23 is an amazing “synchronicity.”

Besides the fascinating correlations between the structures of the I Ching and the DNA code for humans, hexagram 23 seems to exemplify that moment when the sperm is on its way to unite with the egg to form the 46 chromosomes for a new human. Interesting that hexagram 46, Earth over the Wind and Wood is Pushing Upward.

Ritsema/Karcher: “Earth center giving-birth-to wood. Ascending… [Actualize-tao: …ability to follow the course traced by the ongoing process of the cosmos… Linked with acquire, … acquiring that which makes a being become what it is meant to be.]”

P.S.

Is it coincidence or a synchronicity that Britain voted to Split apart from the EU on June 23rd?

If both parties have challenging aspects in natal charts

What would happen in their romantic relationship?

For example, if both persons have:
moon square uranus
moon square neptune
moon square pluto
venus square uranus
venus squre neptune
venus square pluto
mars square uranus
mars square neptune
mars squre pluto

Would they be a happy couple?
Logically, both persons have the same qualities so they should understand each other easily. :ninja:

How to Tell if Venus in Taurus Likes You Back

Credit: rbv via iStockphoto

Credit: rbv via iStockphoto

If you’re attracted to Venus in Taurus, don’t expect quick results. It will take her a while to decide if she’s into you. Once/if she chooses to reciprocate, she will be refreshingly unambiguous. But everything will proceed at her pace, which is to say, slow. However, like excellent wine or a gourmet meal, good things take time to develop.

The Wait

It’s not surprising that you like Venus in Taurus. She rules this sign, so she’s comfortable and sure of herself. Venus in Taurus has a quiet, come-to-me sensuality that everyone feels. But she’s also quite selective. This is one of the most self-assured planet/sign combos: she doesn’t need anyone except herself. She knows exactly who she wants, and she has a set value system. If you don’t match her wants and values, forget it.

Venus in Taurus is fine with you approaching him. Almost nothing ruffles his zen-like calm. He’ll enjoy quieter activities, probably involving nature, definitely involving food. He loves to eat (he loves anything that’s pleasurable) so you can’t miss with a good meal. Nothing fancy, though. He dislikes pretentious, overdone anything. Your drama, fussing and overthinking will turn him off. Your certainty about what you want, and your quiet comfort with your body — no matter how much you weigh — will draw him in. If he wants to go out with you, he may not say “yes” right away. If you try to push him for a date, you’ve lost him. Everything must be on his schedule. If he’s into you, he will get back to you with a confirmation. If he’s not interested, he won’t leave you hanging, because he dislikes games. But either way, you may have to wait for your answer.

If she touches you on the first date, that’s a very good clue that she’s into you. Taurus is an Earth sign, which means anything tactile appeals to her. But don’t make the mistake of thinking this means sex on the first date. Again, things will go at her pace, and she’s in no rush. She’s not shy or afraid. She doesn’t need you to take charge. She knows exactly what works for her, and intimacy is a gradual process that’s she’s very, very comfortable with. The slow buildup is what turns her on. She’s still evaluating you at this stage, deciding if you and she are compatible. She’s not into working to make the relationship work, and she doesn’t care about your future potential. She sees you as you are, right now, and that’s who she wants (or doesn’t want). If she agrees to a second date, you’re almost in. It will take her a few dates to decide. But once she reaches the point where she’s ready to have sex with you, you’re hers.

You Belong to Me

You’ll notice the phrasing of the previous sentence. Venus in Taurus is possessive. He must have things that he can see and touch, as proof that he’s secure. As unromantic as this sounds, in some ways, he considers you to be one of his possessions. Once he decides he likes you back, there’s no going back. You’ll feel the shift — he’ll assume that you and he will spend tons of time together. There will be a subtle but unmistakable vibe that he considers you “his.” He’ll do whatever he can to make you comfortable and happy, and he’ll touch you constantly. This isn’t neediness or insecurity. You’ve crossed his boundary and have been allowed into his life. He has projected his values onto you, and you are valuable to him.

How do you keep Venus in Taurus happy? It’s not complicated, because she’s not complicated. Don’t change a thing. Really, the “you” that she fell for is the you that she wants. Forever. She values calm, quiet and comfort, so once she finds someone who makes her happy, she’ll stick with that person. The end.

Well, not quite. Venus in Taurus’ suspicion of change can feel suffocating if you decide you want to progress in any area. If you get bored, she’ll take that as a threat. If you want to mix things up, she’ll take that as a threat. She can be the most stable partner you’ve ever had — she will put up with almost anything. But if you want to improve, and she feels it will change things for her, look out. She wants you to be happy, but only if it doesn’t impact her comfort. So change of any kind must be introduced very gradually. And you must make it clear that your new career/exercise regime/spiritual calling will not threaten your relationship with her. Once you make that clear, she’ll support you, as she always has, and always will.

Finally, while Venus in Taurus will put up with a lot, his deal breaker is infidelity. If you cheat on him, forget it. The warm, loving, endlessly supportive partner will be gone, replaced by a stranger who has locked the door to keep you out. You’re not getting back in, no matter what. You’ve threatened his values, and (on a deeper level) his survival, by giving yourself to someone else. He can’t stomach it.

Love Horoscope for the Week of June 27

weeklyloveTired of the state of your affairs d’amour? Looking for a boost? Well, lucky you: the sky is going to lend you a helping hand this week! Both Venus and Mars (the feminine and masculine principles in romance, if you prefer those terms over “looking sexy” and “gettin’ some”) will be particularly active this week, and if you take advantage of the conditions, you’ll be able to pump some Life into your Love Life.

Monday starts off with a romantic bang (get your mind out of the gutter — it’s a work day!) as Venus in Cancer makes the exact trine to Neptune. Even if you aren’t particularly looking for love, someone nearby certainly will be. The good news is that if you’re looking for it, it’s going to be easier to find. The bad news is that if you’re avoiding it — or someone specific — it (or that person) may well come looking for you. Yes, even a trine can be a nuisance sometimes. This aspect will be in effect for a few days, which means it’ll be there for you when the mid-week Mars action kicks in!

On Wednesday, Mars ends its retrograde in Scorpio and turns direct. Your goals (romantic or otherwise) will be a little easier to accomplish, not just because the retrograde is over, but because “stationary” planets (right around the time a retrograde starts or ends) tend to be particularly powerful. Libidos everywhere are likely to be amped up to Full Scorpio levels. Again, as with the Venus-Neptune trine, this could be a good thing or (potentially) a bad one, depending on the company you keep. Your circumstances may require sending a love letter, or perhaps a carefully-phrased “cease and desist”… and in either case, Mercury’s entry into Cancer on Wednesday will help you find the right words.

As if all that weren’t enough to get you out and looking for love, the second half of the week is dominated by two powerful Venus aspects. On Thursday, Venus in Cancer (who’s a sweet girl but sometimes a bit too much of a wallflower for her own good) gets blasted out of her complacency by an opposition to Pluto in Capricorn. Admit it: sometimes it’s fun to pine away for love — or even agonize over it a little — and the opposition to Pluto is custom-made for those conditions. If that sounds a little too jarring for you, take comfort in Friday’s Venus sextile Jupiter. This aspect amplifies the “sweetness and light” side of romance, and is well suited to romantic gestures.

This brings us to the weekend, where (Friday and Saturday) Moon in Gemini will take a little of the emphasis off of the raging hormones and help you either maintain enough detachment to avoid rushing into something that may not be a good idea… or give you the verbal and intellectual edge when it comes to talking someone into something. Either way… let’s all play safe out there, shall we?

Mars in Libra, Moon in Leo Compatibility

Flickr photo by badjonni via Creative Commons license

Flickr photo by badjonni via Creative Commons license

This relationship has some sparkle. Mars in Libra’s romantic moves will ignite Moon in Leo’s need to feel special. Libra will know exactly how to make her feel like a queen, and Leo will respond with generous expressions of affection and loyalty. And the occasional surge of jealousy.

Mars in Libra is not just a flirt. He has a lock on the finer points of courtship. He’s the guy that sends you flowers for no reason, or finds something to compliment about your appearance, even if you’ve had the flu for a week. Mars in Libra is motivated to make others feel attractive. He can find a common bond with almost anyone, and his partner will appreciate his willingness to do what it takes to keep the peace. What she won’t appreciate is his repressed desire for conflict and indirect way of expressing his anger. While he appears to want only peace, he’s motivated by some relationship tension.

Moon in Leo needs her partner to recognize how special she is, and treat her accordingly. Because the Moon is a private, instinctive energy, this need may not be obvious. When Moon in Leo isn’t open about her inner queen, or when her partner overlooks this, trouble can arise. Childish displays of drama are her way of getting the attention she’s been denied.

Mars in Libra will hone in on Leo’s inner diva. He’ll expertly wine, dine and seduce her, because he’ll act exactly the way she needs him to. His flair for pure romance will be encouraged by her need for fun, grandiose displays, and drama. The more he compliments her, the hotter her loving responses will be. This will result in a glam relationship where stylish displays of love are the norm. Moon in Leo’s diva demands will satiate Libra’s secret desire for conflict. If she catches him flirting, her jealousy will make things a bit spicy. He’ll scramble to keep her happy, while enjoying the chemistry.

Will I get over him?

Please help me. We have been friends and colleagues for the last decade. It changed earlier this year into a relationship – more deep emotional attachment and a sense of real meaningful connection – but he ended it a week ago. It was always going to be messy and complicated, I know that. But I am devastated – so desperate and distraught. I know I need to get back to a point where I did not need him so much. Please tell me that I will.

I am an amateur at best, so this is what I can see. I am mercury in my own 10th in Gemini, so have some dignity. My emotions are signified by moon in fifth, just separated from a conjunction with Saturn, am I right that the moon is peregrine and therefore has little power to do anything?
Is he fifth or seventh house? I assume 7th – I which case he is Jupiter, in my 1st, his own 7th – meaning I presume that I am very much focused on him. Jupiter in Virgo is in detriment – weak but I don’t know what else it means.

Mercury is applying by square to Jupiter – does that mean that I am still reaching out to him? (I cannot seem to kill that last bit of hope that he will change his mind even though I know he won’t and my hope is stupid and immature)
Jupiter has just separated from Saturn. Moon has separated from a square from Jupiter – can I take it that that means I will find it hard to get over him but will manage it? If so, when can I expect to regain some control of my emotions?

I don’t what to make if the grand cross.

I am very grateful for anything that anyone is able to add. This is killing me.

The Signs Most Likely to Commit

Credit: purmar via iStockphoto

Credit: purmar via iStockphoto

All signs are capable of committing, and not committing. But for some signs, romantic commitment comes more easily. Some are desperate to latch on to a partner because of insecurity. Others are simply clear and confident about what they want. In this article, “commitment” is defined as the decision to have a monogamous relationship (although polyamory is another type of commitment, but not the type this article will look at). If someone wants to commit, there is a readiness to stay the course in a partnership, through good times and bad. This can refer to legal marriage or common law partnership. The package that the commitment comes in is less important than the core intention. This applies to anyone with their Sun, Moon, Venus, Mars or 7th House ruler in the following signs.

The Signs That Stick With You

Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio and Capricorn are natural committers. I’m sure you have some examples of these signs as cheaters or wafflers, and examples of other signs (not mentioned in this article) who have been married for years. As I wrote in the first paragraph, all signs are capable of both ends of the commitment spectrum. The following descriptions don’t negate love as part of the package. In many cases, love is a given. But primary motivations are driven by other reasons. Someone can love you to bits, but if they don’t have that key motivation, they’ll never commit.

Taurus

She’s supremely aware of who meets her survival-based needs. Once she finds someone who makes her comfortable, she’s extremely reluctant to let them go. She dislikes change, so commitment is part of her routine. Also, she has a possessive streak. To some extent, her partner can become one of her possessions, and there’s no way she’s giving her stuff up.

Cancer

Security is his thing. He wants to create a cozy home with available hugs, and often that will include a partner. Even the most secure Cancer has a needy streak, so commitment is very much about having someone there. This is the sign of the mother and the child, and Cancer will alternate between the two. He needs someone to look after him, and he needs to look after someone.

Virgo

She understands that relationships are hard work. Sometimes she can make them hard work, but that’s another story. Suffice it to say that Virgo is up for the challenge of relationship as project. Her goal is to make it (and her partner) better. When things get difficult, it’s a problem to be solved, not a reason to quit. Cheating is simply wrong, and goes against her high standards. Giving up is also wrong — Virgo hates to be wrong.

Scorpio

Scorpio invests so much in the right person that he almost has no choice but to commit. “‘Til death do us part” is appealing, because he loves those extremes. A relationship must involve the exploration of each partner’s limits. If things become difficult, that’s even better, because Scorpio wants to walk through the fire with his love. Commitment is also about power: once he’s chosen someone, he decides on the end date of the relationship. But because there’s so much inner exploration to do, that end date may never come.

Capricorn

Commitment is a natural for this Saturn-ruled sign. She follows tradition and instinctively knows how to be responsible. Capricorn was born with the understanding that life is an uphill slog, and if you want to get anywhere, you have to be determined. So she takes her partnership responsibilities very seriously. It’s also about control: success means keeping it together and staying focused on the goal. Philandering or waffling is the exact opposite of this. Even if she’s unhappy, Capricorn is loath to give up because this suggests she failed.

Other Natal Factors

Signs are one part of the story, but planetary aspects are the other. A heavily-aspected or prominent Saturn (Saturn on one of the angles, or the main planet in a chart configuration) will enhance the native’s responsibility and maturity. Then again, a prominent Saturn can enhance the native’s fear of being hurt, blocking out the potential for all relationships. But assuming he wants a relationship, Saturn is a must for commitment.

Hard and easy aspects from Saturn to relationship planets can do the trick, although the hard aspects suggest that commitment may also involve blind duty. Aspects from Pluto can sometimes enhance the ability to commit, although this would be about demanding everything from a relationship and partner. Sometimes a stellium of planets in a particular house can make the native so focused that he cannot conceive of anything but a commitment. For example, a 4th House stellium makes a home life very important. A 7th House stellium would make one-on-one partnerships the main focus. An 8th House stellium suggests intimate relationships are a priority. Mind you, if the stellium receives hard aspects from other planets (like Neptune or Uranus) the focus on that area would be conflicted.

Love Horoscope for the Week of June 20

weeklyloveThis week’s Zodiac Action offers some small opportunities for you to drop the ball — but if you stay focused on the Bigger Picture, there will be opportunities for you to get things together in a bigger and better way for yourself. Pay close attention, use your head, and don’t give in to momentary impulses … and you’ll come out on top!

Even though it will be over with by the time most of you get to work, the Full Moon at the tail end of Sagittarius will still cast an effect over the usual Monday morning regrets at work. Combined with Mercury opposite Saturn and square Neptune, you might want to keep your grumbling to a minimum, lie low, and let someone else provoke the boss. Focus on the fact that later in the day the Sun enters Cancer and thus the Summer Solstice begins … and convince yourself that this fact alone will make tomorrow better.

Your communications aren’t likely to improve much throughout the first part of the week, as Monday’s Mercury Mess is still in effect on Wednesday when Mercury square Jupiter is exact. On top of inaccuracies and miscommunication, the square to Jupiter adds a certain misplaced and inappropriate enthusiasm to your words, texts and e-mails. Think of it as a bad day in traffic: The Jupiter aspect adds that final push that makes you shout at the guy stopped at the lights ahead of you; it’s unlikely to do you much good, and you’d better hope that guy isn’t larger, meaner, and having a worse day than you.

If you’ve managed to avoid all of those pitfalls of pettiness, the second half of the week and the weekend offer some real promise. After an uneventful Friday at work (the Moon is Void of Course for most of the day, so brace yourself for a less than usually productive Friday… and how productive are those usually, anyway?), two aspects brighten your chances of making your life turn out more to your liking. On Sunday, Jupiter trine Pluto (which has an effect for a few days on either side of that) will not only make things more optimistic, but they also lend a hand when it comes to the tough practical issue of making “how you want your life to be” and “how things really are” work better together. And hey… looking for a committed relationship? The Jupiter-Pluto aspect combined with the flood of emotions that so often comes with Moon conjunct Neptune could make this a very memorable Saturday night. If not? Moon conjunct Neptune has other uses, so make sure you have a Designated Driver.

Finally, Mercury sextile Uranus is also exact on Sunday. Use that energy to talk your way out of all those situations your quickly-blurted responses caused you from earlier in the week.

Wide orbs in natal chart ?

Does anybody know how to interpret a chart with very few close aspects?

In my chart most major aspects have very wide orbs, to the point where they shouldn’t really be considered.
I know that some astrologers recommend limiting orbs to 3-4 deg. but then there would be almost nothing left in my chart, lol. The closest aspect in my chart is Moon sesquisquadrate Pluto (<1 deg.), shall I presume this is the most important aspect in my chart or shall I concentrate on other things as more important, such as house placements, dignities, etc?

What does it mean for a chart to have wide aspects? Is it considered unfavorable?

Mars in Libra, Moon in Cancer Compatibility

Flickr photo by badjonni via Creative Commons license

Flickr photo by badjonni via Creative Commons license

Mars in Libra’s flirtatious moves will make Moon in Cancer uncomfortable. Libra’s charm will feel superficial and annoying to touchy Cancer, who just wants a hug and guarantee of emotional safety. And yet, the tension between them can create an odd sort of chemistry.

Mars in Libra is the smooth guy. He can be so sweet that the object of his affection may not take him seriously at first. Everything that comes out of his mouth is a compliment, and he’s just too … perfect. But Mars in Libra is a real gentleman, and knows how to match his actions to his lover’s (or potential lover’s) needs. That charm is his way of relating and creating harmony in any situation.

Moon in Cancer needs assurances that’s it’s going to be ok. Yes, she needs tenderness, and a partner that she can nurture, but first and foremost she must feel that her relationship is safe. Emotional comfort means more to her than words. Moon in Cancer’s lover should accept that he is partnered with someone who will be Mother and Child, sometimes both in the same day.

Mars in Libra will approach Moon in Cancer, drawn by the strange tension between them. He’ll try to charm her, and she’ll be immediately be suspicious of his actions. However, if he’s persistent, Libra may just win her over with his consideration of her needs. One of Moon in Cancer’s pet peeves is people taking advantage of her sensitivity. Mars in Libra will demonstrate (repeatedly) that he wants nothing more than to make her happy. Eventually, they may reach a point where his courteous efforts intersect with her need to protect and care. They can create a truly loving relationship, and the frisson between their different approaches will keep things interesting.

Neptune Retrograde 2016

Dissolving Boundaries and Illusions

This year has seen a great deal of planets retrograding, and on June 12, 2016, Neptune, the planet of illusions and spiritual growth, took a similar path. Overall, Neptune retrograde has a similar challenging influence to that of Saturn retrograde, which began back in March of this year. Both of these retrograde phases are dominated by the major aspect of this year and its transit, Saturn square Neptune. Before I discuss this year’s Neptune retrograde in further detail, let’s first quickly review what Neptune retrograde represents in a Natal Chart.

Neptune Retrograde (Natal Chart)

Neptune retrograde is more common than inner-planet retrogrades such as Mercury and Mars. Neptune retrograde is present in 40% of the current human population, so it is less feared and detrimental than having a inner-planet in retrograde motion. However, due to the spiritual influence of this planet, Neptune retrograde still carries Karmic debts and a definitive influence on the development of the soul.

Neptune retrograde in a natal chart suggests that there is a certain area of life that is so painful that you instead prefer to escape reality through your own “dream-land” or imagination. It is likely that this tendency is strongly rooted in a very tragic past life experience, such as torture, where the only option you had to escape physical pain was transcending from a physical plane to a more spiritual one. This prior experience of spiritual pain relief was probably so overwhelming that it was permanently etched in your soul’s DNA, and past life crisis (false accusation, victimization, etc.) will often be repeated to a lesser extent very early in life.

No matter what the reason may be, Neptune retrograde indicates that you came back to this life with some justified fears and anxieties. Although they are probably nowhere near the level of extremity now, certain experiences in your life will trigger these very painful memories, and usually on a subconscious level. The natural reaction is to rid yourself of the overwhelming pain by accessing the higher spiritual dimension, as quickly as possible; mediation, prayer, day-dreaming and drugs are the most common methods. The release of pain-reliving hormones in your brain can become so addictive that you could easily resort to escapism more often than not as time goes on.

*Even though Neptune retrograde indicates justified fear and anxieties due to tragic past life experiences, it is very important to recall that everything happens for a reason and playing the “victim” card can only work for so long in this life. It is YOUR responsibility to face your challenges and fears head on. Only by doing this, will you be able to live the life you’ve always dreamed of living.

Neptune Retrograde (Transit)

Neptune retrograde in transit is a regular cycle lasting about 160 days every year during the opposition to the Sun. As is the case with his fellow outer-planet brothers (Uranus, Pluto), this retrograde causes less worry than the rare inner-planet retrogrades. Neptune is retrograde 40% of the time compared to Mars at 9% and Venus at only 7% of the time. Neptune is also a “generational planet”, so the effects of the retrograde transit will be felt on a wider scale; human-consciousness. However, if Neptune is either a prominent or retrograde planet in your natal chart, you may experience this transit on a personal level as well.

Transiting Neptune retrograde can internalize your fears and anxieties when your illusions, dreams and false realities are suddenly stripped away. The down-fall of your fantasy wold will reveal all those harsh realities that you tried so desperately to avoid in some point in your life. The further from the truth you traveled, the bigger the shock. The true nature of your reality may be very painful, as is the cause when addiction to drugs, alcohol, gambling, or pornographic material has been your method of escape. The good news is that it doesn’t have to take withdrawals or interventions to recognize your own self-deception, this realization has always been a part of your higher self, or in the Pineal Gland – as ruled by Neptune.

The internalizing influence of retrograde motion signifies that one may spend more time worrying about him or herself and the problems that seem to “cloud up” the individual’s life. Negative emotions such as self-pity, social anxiety, or depression can lead to more severe symptoms of withdrawal and loneliness. If this is the case for you, Neptune retrograde is the ideal time for spiritual self-development; self-help books or counseling methods may be of tremendous help during this time but other healing tools include meditation, Yoga, Tarot, Astrology, swimming and a healthy, toxin-free diet. Ridding yourself of fears and healing yourself from the inside is what Neptune retrograde is all about.

Saturn Retrograde Square Neptune Retrograde

The strongest and most difficult transit this retrograde period will be Saturn retrograde square Neptune retrograde. As indicated by the “backward” motion, this transit will be more of an internal struggle; such as deception and anxiety. With this transit, disappointment or setbacks that are experienced now will more than likely extend or deepen to periods of grief or depression. Psychological fears or paranoia may overwhelm you leading to confusion, and you may end up questioning whether or not you can really achieve the things you hoped and dreamed for.

The goal of this challenging transit is to liberate your fear, guilt, and worry. Patience, focusing on the basics and expressing yourself creatively through art or music, will all help to raise your level of consciousness. You should also take a more practical and defensive approach to life during this time as Neptune will be dissolving the boundaries between what is real and what is not. Globally, the biggest struggle will be for the most basic of human rights, as a result of subverted religious fundamentalism.

*The tragic massacre that occurred at Orlando on June 11, 2016 was an example of Neptune retrograde at its fullest. At the time of the shooting, Neptune was stationing to turn retrograde (Neptune represents spiritual and religious beliefs), squared Saturn (planet of limitations and loss), and conjuncted Alcyone (the star of homosexuality.) It is very important during this time that we remember that all that occurs in life is for a reason, and the only answer to healing pain is love. Neptune retrograde is the perfect opportunity to focus on healing past hurts, and opening yourself up to the purest form of love – unconditional love. #PrayforPeace #LoveWins

Neptune Retrograde, Yod, and the General Aspects

Neptune Retrograde 2016 will last from June 13 all the way to November 20, 2016. When studying a retrograde transit, it helps to look at the other aspects involved with the planet in retrograde, in this case it’s Neptune, to further gain more insight into the general themes that may be associated with the transit. As shown in the chart below (no longer present), this year Neptune retrograde will be associated with a Yod, or Hand of God, aspect pattern. A Yod aspect pattern, in general, indicates a cycle of repeating challenging experiences which must be undertaken in order to restore karmic equilibrium. This Mars-Yod, together with four planets in retrograde motion, suggests an acutely painful event in your past resulted from blindly following your ego-centered or sexual desires without regard for any consequences. Below, I’ve listed the general aspects and themes that may be present in your life due to Neptune retrograde, and how to work with them to the best of your advantage.

Sun conjunct Venus. As shown in the chart above, this aspect is the most dominant and suggests that the anxiety and deception of Neptune retrograde 2016 is closely associated to love or money,or both. If this is the case with you, be sure to keep your personal finances on a tight leash these next few months, and be sure that the relationship you’re currently involved with is one of pure love, and not one based on selfish and fear-based desires.

Mars at the action point of the Yod aspect pattern suggests danger or violence from any risky and reckless action. This especially applies to acting on selfish or lustful desires (Mars) and the retrograde motion of this planet indicates danger when undertaking in these kinds of decisions. Word of advice: think twice before saying or doing anything – especially when you are around others that you don’t feel comfortable with. Since Mars is in retrograde, sports and any physical activity will greatly aid in relieving any pent-up stress or anger.

Venus sextiles Uranus
suggests that any passionate desires stem from your boredom with current conditions. This can be helpful or hurtful, depending on the intentions of the individual. Creative projects, eccentric expression and humanitarian groups are a perfect way to take advantage of this aspect’s energy, rather than hunting down some younger or more unusual source of pleasure, usually with an element of risk being attached.

Jupiter trine Pluto is a very fortunate aspect that generally increases your power to positively transform your own life, your environment, and the lives of other people. With Jupiter giving the powerful Pluto a helping hand, you should be able to feel more in control of certain situations and areas in your life. Use this aspect to help you in controlling the one area of your life you seem to be struggling the most with. The biggest gains during this phase come from maintaining your high morals, and acting selflessly. Journeys and healing experiences made during this time will greatly transform your outlooks on life, and will always be remembered as “once in a lifetime” experiences.

Neptune in Pisces. With Neptune feeling at home in his natural sign, Pisces, our feelings are more astute at picking up and perceiving the illusions surrounding us. As these perceptions become more acute, it is vital to listen to the “inner voice,” so that you can fully perceive what is going on around you. Neptune retrograde will create a psychic overload for sensitive people, so it is essential that you talk about what you are feeling, sensing or absorbing. It is also important to avoid drugs, chemicals and stimulants as much as possible, for these only “cloud” up the images and messages we receive through our intuition. Protect yourself by refraining from associating with addictive personalities, psychic attractions, and overwhelming people who drain your energy. Black Tourmaline can funnel off negative energy and psychic attacks. If you feel a little paranoid, it may be that you are picking up too much from your external environment; Yoga, meditation, exercise and a healthy diet will greatly aid in preventing and managing these types of negative energies.

Finding Your Parents In Your Birth Chart

Your relationship with your parents is your partnership template. When examining relationship patterns, parents are often the first subject that comes up. How you experience Mom and Dad is indicated in the natal chart. Your Sun (and Saturn) describe your father, and the condition of your Moon describes your mother. Note the phrase “How you experience…” While the natal chart reveals facts about your childhood (the love or abuse you received will show up very clearly) it is also a subjective filter.

Moon

Your Moon describes baseline needs and emotional expression, but its natal condition also describes your perception of the care and comfort received from your mother. Sign placement alone will have something to say about this, although it’s just the tip of the iceberg. Your Capricorn Moon can describe a cool, controlling mother. When siblings have Moons in different signs, it indicates their different experiences of mother. For example, Capricorn Moon has a Pisces Moon sibling. Mom may have failed to set boundaries with Pisces; the rules she insisted on for her Capricorn child somehow dissolved with Pisces Moon.

But Moon sign is only one indicator, and it paints a very simplistic picture. For a full description, you need to look at house placement and aspects to other planets. A 10th House Moon in Pisces, conjunct Neptune, suggest that you found Mom to be domineering. This is due to the Moon’s placement at the top of your chart. But she was not domineering in a typical way. The conjunction to Neptune in Pisces suggests she may have been weakened due to illness. Maybe she was an alcoholic, or suffered from depression. She may or may not have been codependent, but you felt that she needed your care. Her issues dominate your life. Any corresponding habits you have — involving surrender, helplessness, depression or addiction — will dominate your relationships. Looking at the positive side of this, perhaps you learned a tremendous amount of compassion and empathy from your mother, and these qualities rule your life.

A trine between your Moon and Pluto suggests a powerful mother. The harmony of the trine can indicate a supportive relationship with her. Let’s say you have a 2nd House Taurus Moon, trine 6th House Pluto in Virgo. Perhaps she enabled your self-esteem and security (2nd House) through her determined and insightful approach to your medical issues. Moon/Pluto in any aspect is transformative — there may have been a crisis in your childhood. Maybe you were quite ill and almost died, but she stayed by your side in the hospital, and then gently but relentlessly nursed you back to health once you came home. The resulting impact on your future relationships can be seen, as you approach them with a stability (Taurus) born from having survived the worst.

Sun

Your Sun describes your ego and conscious will, and also your experience of your father. Sign will have something to say about Dad’s qualities, but house placement and aspects fill in the complete picture. Your Sun in 1st House Aries opposite Saturn in 7th House Libra suggests that Dad played a major role in defining (Saturn) your identity (1st House). But that definition is a result of your perception of his disapproval and judgements. Perhaps he was an assertive (Aries) guy who pushed you to be your best. At least, that’s what he thought he was doing. But you experienced this as never being good enough, no matter how hard you tried. Hence, your lifelong struggles with lack of confidence and fear of failure.

The 1st/7th House axis indicates that you project his judgements onto your partners. There may be a direct correlation with how you viewed your parents’ marriage (Dad was the boss). Perhaps you project your authority onto your partner. You’re drawn to successful partners, even though success continues to elude you. The positive side of this aspect is your potential to dig in and persevere. However, this will only happen once you push past the internal voice that says you’re not good enough.

By itself, natal Saturn can also indicate your childhood experience of your father. Saturn in hard aspect to Mars often indicates growing up with physical hardship, such as extreme discipline meted out by Dad. The condition of your Saturn in general will describe how you experienced paternal authority and rules. However, Moon in hard aspect to Saturn will indicate an authoritative or repressive mother (as well as your loyalty and resentment towards her).

Sun and Moon

Aspects between your Sun and Moon can describe the state of your parents’ marriage. Again, the emphasis is on how you experienced it, which may not always reflect the actual state of the marriage. For example, you have a trine between your Sun and Moon, but your parents are divorced. And yet, they managed to put aside their difficulties and work together to raise you. This will manifest as harmony between your ego and emotions, giving you a solid approach to future relationships. You developed this by observing how your parents made it work.

Sometimes the separative aspect of a Sun/Moon opposition can describe divorced parents. But parents who remain unhappily married can also be seen in the opposition. Their tension will be translated to you, as you’re torn between opposing priorities in life. And, you may be drawn to partners who exacerbate this tension. A Sun/Moon conjunction can indicate that Mom and Dad presented a united front for you. But if that conjunction is challenged by a hard aspect to any other planet, it also indicates conflict in the marriage. Sun/Moon square Mars/Saturn suggests deadlocked arguments, and staying together out of a sense of duty (to you). As a result, you develop a set focus (Sun/Moon) defined (Saturn) by their fights. Maybe you become a defensively stubborn partner who knows what you want, but also expects the worst from relationships.

Love Horoscope for the Week of June 13

weeklyloveHey, you know what? You look fantastic! Really, you do! Everyone really likes and admires you.

(sigh)

Okay. Keep what I just said in mind when I tell you how much of a grind this week is going to be, thanks to our old friends Saturn and Neptune. The Saturn-Neptune square has been in effect for months now, making it harder than average to get the solid and permanent things you want in your life to get started, or for those things to stand on their own. On Monday, Neptune turns retrograde. For those of you who put a great deal of emphasis on things like visualization and meditation, this may spell the beginning of a time (which lasts until November) where your Cosmic Signals have a harder time getting through and finding the target. On the other hand, if you like a practical, nuts-and-bolts approach to life, the stern taskmaster that is Saturn isn’t getting any help at all from goofy Neptune.

This whole Saturn-Neptune situation gets a lot more troublesome this week when the square between these two very different planets reaches the exact degree. The best advice I can give you about this? One, you’ve almost certainly survived worse transits in your life. Two, Jupiter in Virgo is going to be very little help this week, as it continues to pass opposite Neptune and square Saturn. In a situation like this, Jupiter (which is normally the bringer of good cheer) acts as sort of an amplifier/agitator to the whole Saturn-Neptune mess.

But hey, like I said… you look great!

Nobody expects Friday to be the most productive day of the week, and it’s natural on that day for one’s mind to turn towards the weekend’s date action. But this Friday, with the Moon Void of Course in Scorpio throughout most of the day, your ability to focus on work may go from “minimal” to “forget it.” Not helping any is Venus, which enters Cancer on Friday. Venus in Cancer can be genuinely sweet and sensitive and caring, but it can also be a little too timid for its own good. However, if you like your romance with a touch of “girl next door” going for it, you’ve got between now and July 11th to gain some romantic ground.

Saturday’s Moon in Sagittarius would normally be ready for an adventurous good time, but conjunct Saturn and square Neptune? It may be a better day for drunken brawling than passionate encounters. Your best bet for love on the weekend may be on Sunday, when the Moon makes a trine to Uranus. Then again, it’s Father’s Day. Why not combine that with the energy of Uranus and get Dad that novelty trout necktie you just know he’d love…

Where is it going all wrong?

Greetings everyone,

Hope you are doing great :)

Over the last three years, I’ve been characterized by a lack of energy, drive and ambition. I’ve seen myself transform from a cheerful, enthusiastic person to someone who loathes planning new things and meeting new people. I’ve seen my craze for watching cricket and football turn into absolute disinterest in the game(s), even when I have nothing else to do.

I’ve broken up with a girl whom I was crazy about 4 years back and had a successful relationship with for 2 years. Why? Because, I just don’t “feel” it in the relationship anymore.

This has also been a time where I’ve been marked with notable absent mindedness, a lack of ability to retain information(which, btw, has seen me metamorphose into a below par student from a class topper before)

To put it shortly, I just feel that I’ve lost myself somewhere, to endure a rather insipid life, characterised by lack of drive and enthusiasm.
I’ve always been an optimistic person, or rather put, a non-pessimistic person and that’s probably why I haven’t been down and out totally.

Is there an end to this, I don’t know. All I know is that this “transition” was pretty abrupt, happened in the course of January to February 2012 and I’ve stayed this way ever since, just that the “transition” is better appreciated by me now, more than ever before.

Is it due to a harsh transit? Is it due to the influence of an external entity, aka, spirits or black magic?

Will totally appreciate your insights.

Thanks in advance.

Mars in Libra, Moon in Gemini Compatibility

Mars in Libra’s flirtatious actions will energize Moon in Gemini, complementing and increasing her need for light interactions. She’ll feel comfortable but never bored with his approach. Together, they’ll create a union that sparkles with wit and romance.

Mars in Libra knows how to turn on the charm. His approach is carefully calibrated to match the vibe of whomever he’s attracted to. Some might feel that this approach makes Mars in Libra superficial, and he can be. But he’s also a skillful suitor, who instinctively matches his partner’s pace. His light touch and romantic efforts are always appealing, even if he has a tendency to avoid confrontation.

Moon in Gemini needs a partnership with breathing room. This doesn’t just refer to her personal space, although that’s important. Her emotional interactions are based on discussion and the exchange of facts, rather than intensive exploration. Moon in Gemini needs the freedom to touch on a topic, and then quickly move on if it becomes uncomfortable. Her partner should understand that she has feelings, but she doesn’t process them by immersing herself in the issue.

Mars in Libra will find that Moon in Gemini is an ideal partner for his romantic dance. She’ll respond to his light charm, and he’ll find it easy to match her quickly-shifting moods. They’ll make a lively couple, buzzing with wit, curiosity and perpetual courtship. The only downfall to this match would be a tendency to gloss over difficulties. Neither partner is at ease with uncomfortable topics, so they may avoid potential problems that end up undermining the relationship.
