Venus enters Aquarius on Tuesday, and will be there until mid-March. Whenever Venus changes Signs there’s always a slight shift in tone to the romantic atmosphere, and Venus in Aquarius makes things a little… well, there’s just no way around it: a bit weird.

Admittedly, Aquarius doesn’t have the reputation for being the most romantic Sign of the Zodiac. If you want “universal love” in some vague, social-justice, hippyish sense, then certainly Venus in Aquarius is ideal. But when it comes to one-on-one, up-close intimacy, an Aquarian Venus is perhaps not so well-equipped. Nonetheless, it’s far from bad news for your love life. If there’s one thing this placement can do, it’s to dedicate itself to an ideal… even if that ideal can be a little hard to define. The Water-Bearer Venus may have a difficult time committing, but once it does, it throws itself into a relationship with the ideological force of a love ninja. So: if you want to play it light and easy with your love life in the next month, the conditions are good… with a chance of the whole thing blowing up in your face and turning into full-blown commitment.

This slightly-detached attitude will serve you well this week, as the other big aspects happening boil down into a bunch of quintiles. “Quintiles?” you may ask. “What the heck is a quintile?” Quintiles represent a chance to put your talents and creativity to work. On its own, a quintile isn’t likely to do you any obvious favors, but if you roll up your sleeves, you’ll likely find it can bring you great results. This is particularly the case early in the week with Sun quintile Saturn, and then on the weekend with Venus quintile Uranus. Sun quintile Saturn brings with it the opportunity to bring some sense of order to your life, whether romantically or on a more practical level. Sure, saying something like “organizing your desk at work will bring great rewards” isn’t the most exciting thing you’re likely to ever read in a weekly forecast, but it’s still true.

If you’re into making your own excitement, the weekend’s Venus quintile Uranus and Moon in Leo make for optimum conditions. If your love life hasn’t generated the sparks that you crave, the Venus/Uranus quintile will give you the opportunity to shake things up in new and creative ways. A sense of drama always helps with that sort of thing, and that’s something Moon in Leo is famous for.
