Remember that board game called “Mystery Date” back from the sixties and seventies? The one where you would spend the whole game preparing for a date that could involve a trip to the beach or bowling or roller skating but you didn’t know who would come to the door until the end of the game, so you had to guess at how to prepare? This week’s astrology is a bit like that, as Neptune in Pisces is getting agitated by a couple of squares, and frankly Neptune is enough of a wild card at the best of times. No matter what outfit you pick, odds are good it’s going to be The Dud rather than Surfer Guy who shows up at your door at some point.
(Full disclosure: as a cisgender male child of the sixties I never actually played “Mystery Date,” and my parents would have probably had a nervous breakdown if I did. But I digress. Neptune appreciates a good digression now and then.)
Monday brings us Mars in Gemini square Neptune. This aspect is a little like having one too many shots of tequila in a country and western bar and finally working up the courage to ride that mechanical bull: You’ll probably be compelled to have a bit of adventure, but at the same time there’s a perfectly good reason why they make you sign that waiver before you get on and ride. Your drives and ambitions will likely be strong but confused.
On Wednesday, Venus trine Chiron and makes for an interesting combination. When you put the Goddess of Love together with the Eternally Wounded Healer, you have opportunities to gain ground diplomatically with those you are close to. If things go wrong in your personal relations, try a little tenderness, and you will likely find it goes a little further than usual.
On Friday, Mercury (still retrograde in Gemini) is square Neptune. This frankly is a pretty dopey combination. You may have bold new creative ideas, but your attention to detail is likely to be off-kilter. Literally or figuratively, be careful operating heavy machinery — especially if that machinery is unfamiliar to you. And by operating heavy machinery, I also mean “striking up conversations with new people you want to impress.”
The weekend dating situation is dominated by Moon in Scorpio. All that lack of attention and direction is now mixed with some intense emotions. When it comes to matters of love and seduction, you may find your powers are strong but your ability to make wise choices for yourself could be impaired. Fortunately, Sun square Neptune — which is exact on Sunday — is in effect throughout the weekend and it might slow you down a little by tapping out your energy levels. However, if you are at or near the beginning of a relationship, this might be an ideal weekend for some low impact seduction.
