Jupiter in Virgo’s Impact on the Earth Signs

Last week’s article on Jupiter’s Virgo transit explored its impact on the Mutable signs. This week, we’ll look at how Jupiter in Virgo might impact love for the Earth signs. Jupiter will be trining Taurus and Capricorn, which means that Jupiter’s expansive energy will be delivered smoothly. This influence won’t trigger a major relationship event by itself, but it can make some things easier. And that’s the key word with a Jupiter trine: easy. This energy will be so harmonious that it may just slide by. But if the Earth signs pay attention, they can reap a tangible harvest. Earth is the element most likely to manifest something real, so Jupiter’s promises will be workable and obvious, even if they’re not glamorous.

Taurus

Did you know that you’ll be receiving a double dose of Jupiter? Jupiter’s current transit of Leo (which began on July 16th, 2014) is squaring your sign. You may have overindulged in love (which is not always a bad thing) or you may have been pushed out of your partnership comfort zone. Jupiter in Virgo will hit the same planets or angles in your sign, but the trine will be an encouraging confirmation of whatever the Jupiter square triggered. If Jupiter in Leo brought a new attraction, or opened a door in your existing relationship, Jupiter in Virgo will keep you moving in the right direction (forward). This energy can create a growing feeling of comfort and sensuality with a partner. It can also give you an appealing glow, which will be helpful if you’re looking for someone new. There will be no drama (at least, not from this transit); you’re a straightforward lover who is solidly grounded in what you want, and this influence will encourage you to keep being yourself. Jupiter can also polish the rough edges in a relationship by encouraging you to ease up on your stubborn stance. You may find that it doesn’t matter so much if your routine is tweaked, or if your partner disagrees with you.

The downside to Jupiter’s energy is that it can also keep you in a relationship rut. If you’re stubbornly single (but wouldn’t mind connecting with someone) or if you’re passively going through the motions in an unhealthy relationship, this transit’s encouragement can be mistaken for “everything’s fine as is.” Jupiter can make you feel really good with where you’re at in the moment. If that means you and/or your partner are happy, that’s great. Don’t change a thing. But if you have a sneaking suspicion that you could change things up a bit, don’t allow this energy’s easy drip of contentment to lull you into a deeper rut. If something in your love life needs adjusting, consider making small changes. Jupiter in Virgo is all about the details, so you don’t have to do anything major. One or two little tweaks on a visible, practical level can make a big difference in your relationship (or your potential relationship).

Capricorn

If anyone’s going to work this Jupiter trine, it’s you. You’re a pro at taking responsibility for what needs to be done, so you’ll probably be tuned into whatever may blossom under this transit. “Maximizing potential”  is your key phrase. If Jupiter increases the energy of mutual enjoyment between you and your partner, you’ll find a way to take that as far as it can go. If you’re single, and Jupiter adds a little extra to your charms, you’ll capitalize on that (in a tasteful way, of course). Jupiter won’t bring hordes of suitors to your door, but it can urge you to step out. Whether you’re single or attached, this transit can help you relax by loosening your boundaries just a touch, and by making your existing traits (natural poise, authority and ambition) extra appealing.

Take note of October 11, 2015, March 16, 2016 and June 26, 2016. Jupiter will trine Pluto (in your sign) on these dates. This is immensely positive, no matter how you slice it. Despite Pluto’s wrecking-ball impact on Capricorn, it is the planet of empowerment (when used appropriately). Jupiter’s expansion will enhance Pluto’s power, and Pluto will amplify Jupiter’s positive impact. There could be enough oomph in this combo to manifest a major new relationship (with intense Pluto undertones). Or, it may trigger a visible breakthrough in your understanding of what needs to change in your love life. Jupiter will enable Pluto’s evolution, but it won’t be like the Uranus/Pluto smackdown you’ve experienced.

There’s always a chance that even you will allow Jupiter’s opportunities to pass you by. If you’re obsessing about how horrible your life is, or how you’ll be single forever, it’s entirely possible that you’ll ignore Jupiter. As mentioned, this is not a dramatic transit, so you may be underwhelmed by what it offers. Maybe you’ll have a chance to attend a new event. Who cares, right? But that’s where you meet people. Or, maybe there will be an opening to talk, rather than fight, with your partner. *Yawn.* But that’s how you reconnect. If you’re in an unworkable relationship that’s making you miserable, you may have a discussion with someone who suggests you end it. Well, it’s not that easy because x, y and z. But if it’s time to move on, what’s stopping you? The point is, you don’t have to do anything with this transit. But if you’re not happy, this grounded influence can enrich the foundations of your personal life, if you choose to work with it.
