This week’s astrological forecast is not so much a matter of terrible pitfalls or big bold opportunities, but a collection of mild warnings and faint-hearted approval. At least Saturn is no longer retrograde, and your long-term plans have a better chance of gaining some traction. If a warm bowl of bland and inoffensive promise sounds like a good thing to you, then maybe you have Mercury in Virgo (and you will be pleased to know that Mercury enters Virgo this Friday). Even if you don’t have that Mercury placement, the key to success in the next month will be attention to detail. And as we all know: the devil is in the details.
For example: normally astrologers would be thrilled and delighted to tell you that there is a Venus-Jupiter conjunction in Leo this week. However, Venus is retrograde… which in and of itself shouldn’t be that big a deal. But when you combine that with the fact that Venus and Jupiter will be very closely square Saturn in Scorpio for that conjunction, some serious rain could get dumped on that potential romantic parade. Among other things, Venus retrograde has a reputation for making exes and old potential romantic partners come out of the woodwork, and if you would like to prove to yourself once and for all that giving so-and-so one more chance is a bad idea, this may be the perfect time to go for it. This exact aspect happens on Tuesday, but is in effect for most of the week.
The second half of the week is dominated by Mars in Cancer trine Saturn. As mentioned here before, Mars in Cancer is not the most particularly useful of placements, but when it gets a helpful aspect from Saturn, you can achieve your goals in a sure-footed and reliable manner without causing too much harm. And of course if what your life needs is bigger and more dramatic action, there’s always Saturday, when Mars enters Leo. That ought to be good for shaking things up in your life a little…
As mentioned earlier, Mercury enters Virgo on Friday. I had a list of jokes — annotated, color-coded, and alphabetized jokes — written about how Mercury in Virgo is methodical, but decided to cut them for the sake of clarity.
Finally, things are looking up for the weekend dating scene. Friday and Saturday the Moon is in Gemini, which knows how to talk a good game. It’s ruled by a strongly-placed Mercury in Virgo, and when you add that to Mars in Leo, there’s the potential for a very good time socializing… or a good time getting close to someone. Why not get out there and talk yourself into something?
