Saturn is, quite frankly, going to seem like it’s more trouble than it’s worth this week. That’s probably unfair… after all, nothing of permanence can be achieved without it. In fact, this week’s Mars sextile Saturn (exact on Tuesday) could give you some wonderful opportunities to make permanent and positive change in your life, even with things that have eluded a satisfactory outcome in past. Good news? Sure, until you consider that — with the other transits happening this week — you may be ready to pull the trigger on a brilliant solution, but you might be aiming at the wrong target.
Although a weekly forecast is certainly useful, sometimes there are larger astrological events going on that a weekly horoscope can’t wrap itself around properly. That’s the case this week with the Saturn-Neptune square. It’s been going on since September, and it becomes exact on Thursday… Thanksgiving for many of you. But just because it’s exact that day (and this week overall) doesn’t mean that this is exactly when its effects kick in. That usually requires smaller transits to kick it off. With a Big Transit like Saturn square Neptune, some smaller transits will be like tossing straws onto the back of a camel that’s already carrying a grand piano.
Saturn square Neptune can be quickly described as “practical matters and idealism are at odds, and neither side is winning.” You may have noticed more than the usual amount of that in your life or in the world, but it’s going to be amplified this week. But no, go right ahead, try to convince Uncle Floyd that his crazy political and/or religious beliefs don’t stand up to scrutiny. Have fun with it!
The day before the exact Saturn-Neptune square brings a Full Moon, with the Sun in Sagittarius opposite Moon in Gemini. Both of those Signs are known for voicing their opinions, and neither one of them has a reputation for thinking it through before they open their mouths. So by all means: keep arguing with people on the Internet.
After all that, you might want to get out and blow off some steam (and possibly find some romance) this weekend. Unfortunately Moon in Cancer is kind of moody in a not-always-helpful way when it comes to love, and Sun conjunct Saturn (exact on Sunday) is pretty darned heavy. Come to think of it, although this weekend isn’t the greatest for lighthearted fun, it may be just the ticket for an impromptu arranged marriage. Be careful though: with the Saturn-Neptune square in full effect, that might sound like a rational solution to all your love life issues…
