If you want to make major changes in your life, there’s no better time to start than on a New Moon, and this Wednesday features a New Moon in Scorpio. Sure, all the death and regeneration cliches about Scorpio are true… and it’s noteworthy that Wednesday is November 11th, when many countries honor their war dead. You yourself might want to consider using that day to remember your losses and sacrifices, and better yet: find a way to get what you want out of life that involves fewer bombs and bullets.
If you noticed a subtle shift in the emotional or romantic tone of your life over the weekend, that was the gentle and harmonious sound of Venus entering Libra. Just because Venus is passing through the Sign it rules doesn’t mean that you and everyone else in the world will suddenly have more love and creature comforts than you did when Venus was in Virgo. However, it may seem like that sort of thing is possible, and believing you can have something is the first step towards actually getting it.
But let’s not forget that love (at least sexually-based love, which is what you’re likely interested in, because really… you need help from astrology finding a puppy or kitten that loves you and that you can love? Good God I hope not!) also comes with a strong Mars element. On Thursday, Mars joins Venus in Libra, and whereas this is a great place for Venus, it’s a lot less comfortable for Mars. Venus is a bit like a high society debutante at a fundraising dinner for the opera: perfectly at home charming the guests and waxing enthusiastic over the canapes. Mars in Libra, on the other hand, is like forcing Mad Max into a suit and tie and forcing him to spend three hours at that same fundraising dinner with a fake smile stuck on his face. So romantically, your best approach may be to use your sweetness and charm all you want… but stay focused on the goal, which is ultimately more strictly physical than the average greeting card company would care to admit. The one thing a debutante in a ball gown and a wolf in sheep’s clothing have in common is that they are both using costumes to strategic effect.
All of this naturally leads us to the subject of the weekend, which provides some interesting conditions for romance. On the one hand, Venus sextile Saturn indicates that any new relationship started this weekend stands a better-than-average chance of developing into something more permanent. Mercury sextile Jupiter facilitates communication and flirting. On the other hand, Venus quincunx Neptune can make for otherworldly feelings… or can turn delusion into attraction. So… how will you be able to tell if that new Certain Someone is The Real Deal or another wrong turn in the path of your love life?
When you get right down to it… isn’t that ALWAYS the question that arises at one point or another? You might as well enjoy the ride and sweat the details later, like you know you’ve done plenty of times before…
