We are now entering that time of year when for most people work either becomes really slack or gets incredibly busy — usually the latter — and the urge to actually stay at work and get things done generally decreases. Sadly (or maybe not), most of this week’s planetary activity will tend to favor the urge to knock off early and go for a drink rather than come into work early and finish off the Annual Report that’s due tomorrow.
Venus and Mars will give you plenty of opportunities to get written up by Human Resources for fraternizing this week. Venus is in Scorpio, which has a certain reputation for favoring a little workplace seduction over workplace efficiency. It’s trine Neptune this week (the exact aspect happens on Thursday), so your romantic choices may seem like all your dreams come true. Just try to keep in mind that not all dreams are particularly good ones, okay?
Meanwhile, Mars is in Libra and spends the week square Pluto in Capricorn. Mars in Libra is a great time to make a smooth move on someone, but the square from Pluto often makes sexual urges strong enough to overcome Libra’s natural sense for diplomacy. This is a particularly powerful combination. For some friendships that have been teetering on the brink of becoming a relationship, it could give you the push you need to make that happen. For relationships that have been on the edge of exploding, it could provide the final spark that sets off the powder keg.
Mercury enters Capricorn on Wednesday. If that sounds to you like a combination that adds up to “serious conversation,” you’d be right. Now might be a good time to lay all your cards on the table with a friend, boss, or loved one. Despite all the highly-charged emotional transits going on, Mercury in Capricorn might lend the proceedings a much-needed touch of common sense.
The weekend gets started with a New Moon in Sagittarius on Friday. I always like to remind readers that a New Moon is a good time to set out your intentions, and this particular New Moon is closely square Chiron, so this month you might want to focus on facing down the demons that have haunted you deep inside and/or since childhood. You might finally have a chance of coming out on top of the things that have haunted you.
Saturday and Sunday feature a Moon in Capricorn, which is normally good news for making sense of your emotional life. Saturday will definitely be the better of the two days for that, when the Moon makes helpful aspects to Mercury, Neptune, and Venus in order. Mercury sextile Venus in particular makes Saturday a good Date Night. Sunday is a little more agitated, as the Moon makes a square to Uranus and then Mars early in the day. The Moon makes a trine to Jupiter before it goes Void of Course for the rest of the day… so find someone to pleasantly waste with time during the evening.
